Simple Steps on Log into Safe Mode with Networking on Windows XP, 7, Vista And 8

Safe Mode with Networking is one diagnostic mode of Windows Operating System which is popularly used to fix many complicated system problems such as virus infection, system errors or corrupted files. Some computer users may not familiar with the approach of getting into Safe Mode with Networking. Hence, this post will show you how to log in Safe Mode with Networking on Windows 7, 8, Vista and XP. 


Safe Mode with Networking on XP, 7 & Vista

  • Restart your computer first.
  • As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, tap “F8″ key constantly.
  • Use the arrow keys to highlight the “Safe Mode with Networking” option and then press ENTER.
  • If you don’t get the Safe Mode with Networking option, please restart the computer again and keep tapping “F8″ key immediately.

*However, sometime the common F8 key method may not work in every situation. Thus, you can attempt the System Configuration Utility function in Windows in order to log in Safe Mode with Networking successfully.

System Configuration Utility in Windows XP
1.    Open the Start menu and click Run.
2.    Type msconfig in the search box and press OK.
3.    Select the BOOT.INI tab and put a check by the entry/ SAFEBOOT.
4.    After that, click the radio button MINIMAL
5.    Choose Apply and OK.
6.    Restart computer.

System Configuration Utility in Windows 7/Vista
1.    Open Start menu. Run Start Search in Vista or Search Programs and Files in Windows 7.
2.    Press msconfig or msconfig.exe in the search box.
3.    Select the Boot tab.
4.    Check Safe Boot in the Boot options and click the radio button Minimal.
5.    Restart computer.

Attention: When you need regular mode back, please run msconfig again and remove the check by / SAFEBOOT. Otherwise, your PC will run into safe mode every time you start it.

Safe Mode with Networking in Windows 8

  • Restart your computer. Before Windows launches, hold down the Shift key and repeatedly hit the F8 key (Shift+F8). Sometimes, the Recovery mode screen may popup. Then choose See advanced repair options Button.
  • In the Choose an option Screen, Select Troubleshoot option to continue.
  • Now you are at Windows Startup Settings option. Click Restart to continue.
  • Then the Advanced Boot Options Screen will pop up, use the arrow keys to highlight the “Safe Mode with Networking” option, or you can simply press the number key 5 to enable Safe Mode with Networking.
