How to Uninstall Ask Toolbar


Method one: Add / Remove Program

  • Find the “start” button on the lower left corner of your monitor, and then click it.
  • Find and double click the button “Control Panel”.
  • Find “Add / Remove Program” icon in the control panel, and then double click it.
  • When the windows pop up, find Ask toolbar icon in the list, and then select it to start uninstalling it from your computer by clicking “Remove”.
  • When it is finished, reboot your computer to take effect.

*Tips: Sometimes you cannot find one certain file in Add/Remove Programs, thus you can try this trick as below:


  • Firstly, you need to open the hard disk at \winnt\inf\sysoc.inf

  • Then open the file sysoc.inf. Each line of text in the file represents an item that can be displayed in the Add/Remove Windows Items dialogue.

  • After that, save the Sysoc.inf file, then close it, and reboot your computer.
  • Then the Add/Remove Windows Items dialogue will now display the items you want.
  • Repeat the Delete step as above, find Ask toolbar, and click Remove to delete it.
  • Then you can reboot your computer, all steps are finished.

Remove Ask Toolbar from Browsers


Google Chrome:

a. Click on Chrome menu button. Go to Tools > Extensions.
b. Click on the trashcan icon and remove the extensions that might be causing Ask toolbar.

Mozilla Firefox:

a. Go to Tools >Add-ons.
b. Select Extensions. Remove all extensions that related to Ask toolbar.

Internet Explorer:
